Busy Combination Style With Slide Braids + How To

I have been page surfing on FB for some new styles to try and i must say when i seen this slide braid on Toni Keyannas' Mama Brown's daughter i had to try it :) I had to see if Diva R's hair could pull it off since its believed that you have to have long hair to do it :)

Well Diva R's hair is just under her shoulders un-stretched and i had decided to do a freestyle pony tail style on her, nothing intricate just something cute that we could accessorize. I used the Bee Mine Juicy Spritz as her moisturizer and i applied this  right after her Mixed Chicks Leave-In. Her hair was freshly washed prior to styling.  For hold i applied the Bee Mine Bee Hold Curly Butter as the final product :) This is the BEST butter i have found yet and it is so great for Diva R's hair type! I then just started randomly parting and rubber banding each section and added the heart ballies to the bases.  These heart ballies are awesome i LOVE them!

As you can see i had did some Slide Braids from each pony tail, in case your wondering what slide braids are and how to do them it is so simple that someone who has no idea how to cornrow can do this and it can be completed in seconds...

All you do is braid a regular three strand braid until about 2 inches is left at the bottom of the braid un braided, with that remaining two inches take the two left most strands and PINCH them with your index and middle finger, holding them in place. THEN take your other index finger and middle finger and PINCH the remaining strand, Then PUSH with your index and mid finger the two left most strands up while holding the third strand taught with your right index/mid finger.

You then should have a Slide Braid!! It can be done on medium-long length hair and it remains super cute throughout the whole day and beyond depending on hair texture.  ALSO note that the slide braids that i did are tighter and pushed up more giving it the knot looking effect :) You don't have to push the side two strands up as tight as i did you can do it as tight or loose as you want, just keep in mind that the shorter the hair you attempt these on the smaller the slide braid will be. I decided to add a length of the large barrell beads at the ends of the slide braids, because i couldn't add any smaller size ones due to the thickness of each braid ending. I did this also to cover the varying length of hair left from each slide braid. This is NORMAL and doesn't indicate any thing incorrect or damaged because most of the hair is indeed being pushed up into the slide braid.

After wards i spritzed a light coat of distilled water... I use distilled water as an often refresher also because nothing is more hydrating than water itself. and i love the sheen it creates!
These are awesome cute braids, if i could only master the fish bone braid and a 5 strand braid i will be progressively moving along the braid world LOL

This style took 30 minutes from beginning to end.

What types of braids aside from the norm can you do and how did you learn??

Thank you gurrl :) and I like how you put the beads on the end of the slide braid. I never know what to do with that skinny strand that you're left with at the bottom of a slide braid. Beads... great idea! You are so creative!
