I must give a HUGE thanks to Darcy's Botanical's for blessing us with this HUGE package of goodies to try and review. The Diva was so thrilled to open this as she just knew it was for her. This was one of four blessed products which also included an ultra cute summer bag to carry them!! That was Diva R's fav part so far :)
So i must say before opening the bottles i immediately noticed a luscious scent just filling my nasal passages and i felt like i was in a bakery! This i knew Diva R would LOVE.
I always do a thorough product ingredient reading as well as a scent, touch and texture test before i will use anything on Diva R... I consider this being a component to my indepth-ness because i am very product conscious and with Diva R's allergies its a must!
I freshly shampooed Diva R's hair and let it barely begin to air dry and i decided i was going to use this as a Leave In and moisturizer and see how it performs. I was real excited to try it and after Diva R smelled it she was too! She said it smells "JUST LIKE CAKE MOMMY" which is a winner with her beyond a doubt. So I put about a half dollar size amount in my palm and started finger combing it in, which is my best method of detangling and applying products. I really like the soft and creamy texture of this cream moisturizer its not thick and heavy by any means nor is it watery and runny. This is important to me because Diva R's hair is very thin and the thick or too runny creams don't do well in her hair. So i was happy to note the great texture while it was being applied to Diva R's hair... Here is what her hair looked like after i applied the DB Shea Butter Cream Moisturizer...
I tried my best to take detailed pics so i took them outside this time around... Note: The definition and shine along side the luscious bounce that her curls were given *_* I applied it from near root to ends generously and applied nothing else following. I didn't notice any gunky residues or any type of yucky feelings afterwards on my hands or fingers either.
Below is a random shot of a few curls i picked out, see how Diva R has S curls and backwards S curls :) Those are her naturally formed all over the place curls :)
I am pleased with the togetherness that the cream moisturizer has provided her only shampooed hair... Below is me slightly stretching s few curls in efforts to illustrate NO FLY aways and great absorption.
We ALWAYS experiment with every product we get multiple times on multiple occasions before i review them for accuracy's sake and for a more detailed review. This also helps me make the best decision possible whether it is a good product for Diva R or not. I see this product lasting MONTHS which is a great time span because it doesn't take much per each application and it covers a decent area with the amount i use.
I have used this on her wet, damp and dry hair and find that it performs best on wet and damp hair but works good on dry as well it just takes a little more to cover her hair when its dry. This has proven to be a very good leave in on Diva R's hair and hair type. I like this more so as a leave in than solely as a moisturizer but it is a decent moisturizer by its self too. I have found that this is a GREAT leave in and moisturizer combo when i am applying a light spritz of our moisturizer over top of it, i don't have to re apply it or add a moisturizer later when i do it that way if her hair is flowing free. When doing braid outs this is AMAZING and the fresh heavenly slice of cake scent stays and when unraveling the braids it is just floating out aromatically on top of the moisture being maintained very well while in braids :)
