Hair-Spiration: Sunburst Pony Tails With Two Strand Twists

This style is a throw back that i had posted on FB, Ive searched and searched for more pics of it and i cant seem to find any besides this one. So i call this the Sunburst Pony Tails With Two Strand Twists which is simple and self explanatory.

Im always asked how i part these sunburst parts and honestly it was quite confusing at first for me even... So to simplify how i do it, i just part 4 even pig tails with a straight part down the middle from front to back and from ear to ear then i split them each into TWO sections creating 8 pony tails. So then the pony tails have created a "sun burst or sun ray" pattern raidating outwards from the back center of her head.

This was the time where i began twisting her hair so i didnt quite get the idea of twisting to get it to stay but the loose twists turned out cute anyways. I just twisted with her curl pattern and the curls twisted loosely into themselves.

I cant believe how short her hair is here!!! Times sure passed too quick. This pic was taken a few months shy of 2 years ago :)

God Bless and Happy Styling!

Announcing Our 8th Annual Hair Show... Introducing Keyative Styles: Keyanna and Toni

Welcome to our 8th Annual Hair Show featuring Toni and Keyanna from Keyative Styles!!!!! This is an honor for us to feature the famous Toni and Key! We had the opportunity to interview them so see what they had to say and show some love!

Q1
Please introduce yourself and your lovely Diva... Does your Diva have any special hobbies, interests or participate in any activities that she is partial to? Anything she doesn't care for much?

My name is Toni and I have am the proud momma to a 6 year old little girl named Keyanna. Keyanna is mixed with Italian, African American, and Native American. She is very outgoing, she loves to make people laugh and loves to be the center of attention. Ever since she was a baby she has loved music and dancing. She plays the keyboard, some guitar, and is hoping Santa will bring her a drum set this year! Her dream is to be on Disney’s Shake It Up one day. Keyanna is also enrolled in a local gymnastics program and loves it, and she plans on joining the basketball team soon.

Q2
Do you have a specific hair regime which you follow for your daughter? Do you have one for yourself? Please detail.

We try to stick to a hair routine but it changes a lot, because our schedules are so busy. Currently, on unstyled hair, I try to Co-wash her hair every other night, and shampoo/deep condition once a week. Every morning I spray and detangle Keyanna’s hair with a moisturizer/conditioner mix, and again at night on days we don’t wash. If her hair is in braids or twists I simply spray with our conditioner mix 2x a day and do a co-wash every 3-4 days. She also sleeps with a satin bonnet to protect her hair at night.

Q3
What are some of your favorite products, hair tools, accessories and other pertinent hair items?

OK, so first let me start off by saying I am a total “product Junkie”. Lol. With that being said, some of our all time favorite products are Bee Mine Luscious Moisturizer, Bee Mine Curly Butter, Bruce’s Babes Hair & Body Butter, Bruce’s Babes Shake ‘N Shampoo, Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, and DevaCurl No-poo, and Pooka Pure and Simple Nectar Hair Oil. Our Favorite accessories? Key is a major girly-girl, she loves bows, beads, barrettes, and her Sidewinders.
As far as tools go we really just use a basic Conair brush, and a rat tail comb.

Q4
Looking back to the beginning of your daughters hair journey what could you say that you've learned that got you to the point that you’re at now with what you do/use and how you do/use it to properly care for your daughters hair?

In the beginning of our hair journey I used products on my daughters hair that did more damage than good, Incorporating natural products into our hair routine has helped a lot.. Her hair is much healthier and so much easier to work with.

Q5
Are there any products in your product hall of shame? Any that you do not recommend?

A few summers ago I had heard good things about Cantu Shea Butter, so we decided to try it... Total fail on Keyanna’s hair. It dried her hair out horribly. I put that one in the cabinet of shame. Everyones hair is different, what worked for others didn’t work for us, but that doesn’t mean it wont work for you. Just experiment with trying new products until you find “the one”.

Q6
Is there any styling method or technique that you have yet to master? Anything new brewing for the future?

I can not for the life of me do a flat rope twist, or 3 strand twists. But I do have a few idea’s brewing for future styles you’ll have to wait to see those.

Q7
Have you came across any road blocks along Key's hair journey? Please detail...

I guess really the only road block we have hit is dealing with my perfectionism. I would start on a style and if the parts weren’t exactly right, or if it wasn’t turning out how I pictured it I would just take it all down. Now I don’t worry about any of that.. Even if things don’t look right while I’m braiding, by the time I finish the style I am always happy with it.

Q8
What is your definition of natural hair? Where do you base it from?

I define natural hair as the hair that grows out of your head. Hair that hasn’t been chemically altered in any way.

Q9
What are your favorite styles to create? What are some of Keys favorites? How long do you usually spend doing hair each time?

My favorite styles to do on Key are unique ones, styles that you really don’t see anybody else rockin’. I love to get creative and use her hair as an outlet for that. Lol. Key’s favorites are cornrowed hearts, braided Mohawks, and pretty much anything with beads.. She loves to swing ‘em!
We usually don’t spend more than 45 minutes doing hair, MOST of our styles we keep it pretty simple. But for the more creative styles we sometimes spend 2 hours or more. The longest style we have done was mini braids and we did it over a 2-3 day period.

Q10
How does Key feel about her hair? What are some things that YOU feel are important for her to know as she builds her own thoughts and feelings about her hair?

Q11
Please describe hair time with your daughter... Does she like to help? What do you allow her to do? What are some of her favorite activities to do while sitting?

Keyanna loves to help during hair time. She usually will put the beads on the beader for me, hand me barrettes, or put the curlformers on the rod for me if we are using those. I also put a movie or her favorite show on to keep her busy, she plays her Leapster Explorer, or we just talk.

Q12
Any suggestions for making hair time an easier or smoother experience for others with children?

Make it fun for them, get them involved, and take breaks when they ask. If their bored and stuck sitting for hours at a time it might start to seem more like a punishment to them, and they will definitely start putting up a fight when its hair time.

Q13
By asking your Diva Key what she likes most about her hair what does she say? What is her reasoning?

“I like that it’s long, and you can do lots of pretty things with it. I like to always show my friends at school when you braid it for me.” -Key

Q14
Are you a self taught artist or were there means of which helped guide you in learning how to care for and style your daughters hair?

I started doing Keyanna’s hair in January 2009, and for the first year I learned everything through trial and error. Then I started coming across hair blogs, and am still learning and finding inspiration through them everyday, as well as through some awesome braiders on my face book page!

Q15
Please share some things about yourself that aren’t mentioned above, likes/dislikes, hobbies, interests, fun facts, what sparked your interest in natural hair… ETC

Well, I just recently built up enough confidence to start braiding other peoples hair (other than key’s) lol. I am considering going to school for hair design and making a career of this.

Two Strand Flat Twist Style With Braided Pig Tails

Today's style was inspired by the very much so loved and appreciated simple, quick and easy idea which likes to stick around this household :) I have been trying new ways to make twists stay in Diva R's hair and lately i feel i have been making progress! YAY! This is great news because way before i learned how to braid i was trying to put twists in her hair. Whats strange is i have always been able to flat twist and flat rolling twist my own hair just couldn't do it on anyone else until some months ago without them unraveling.
SO since we had such a busy day and a family get together on top of everything else i decided the theme was going to be black and red.

I gathered my distilled spritz bottle, BM Curly Butter and Juicy Spritz. First i applied our distilled as usual and i began by sectioning the front part which i planned on doing a two strand flat twist. From this point i had parted straight down the back of her head and this is where the main part was going to be. I applied some Curly Butter to the section then I began by grabbing a small front piece of the section that i am going to twist and began twisting the left strand over the right and kept that pattern picking up hair as i went until i reached the end of the hair on her scalp.

Then i started to braid the remaining hair from the twist and i secured the end with a rubber band. This is a must for Diva R's hair type because if i do not do this her hair will unravel that quick. (wish i would have taken more pictures)!
Then with the part i already made i created two uneven pig tails and applied some CB to each section and pony tailed them each off with matching red pony tails and made a loose single braid with the remaining hair on each side. I added one of Diva R's hair clippies too which we received from the Naturally Flyy Detroit Meet Up a few months back :) The cool thing about this clip is Ive never seen anyone else wearing one making it "special" <3

In the picture below you can see how i braided the remaining hair from the twist and just put it back into the pony tailed braid.

I spritzed our Juicy as our light finishing moisturizer and off we went for a whole days worth of activities! The hair style took 20 minutes and lasted the whole day and into the next.

Announcing Our 6th Annual Hair Show Featuring Diva B and Sir M!

Hi! My name is Natalie, I’m the owner & creator of Cocoa Curlz. I have two curly cuties! My daughter, Princess B is 4 yrs old and my son Prince Cai is 2 yrs old. My children are ½ African American, ¼ Native American, and ¼ French/Scottish.

Princess B’s hair type is soft, medium thickness, becomes dry/frizzes quickly, and a mixture of 3A/3B (Troy Polamalu would be the perfect example!). Prince Cai’s hair is very thick, doesn’t frizz but gets a little dry, and is showing a mixture of 2A/2B/2C when wet. We’re in the process of growing his out!

I began styling my daughter’s hair when she was 2, that’s when it became much more curly. Thank God for my big sister, Ty for help! I would also Google for other ideas and tips. Daddy even helps sometimes!
Our hair care routine is very simple. I deep condition twice a month, shampoo once a week, and co-wash in between shampoos when necessary, and apply hair milk every morning. I moved from NJ to northern Ontario, Canada late last year and I live in an area where there is only one place available for AA hair care products, which is almost an hour’s drive away. I decided to make my own natural product line to have something available for others in my community that would be chemical-free.

My biggest pet peeves about hair care are people who have the ‘good/bad hair’ mentality, having hair on your head is plenty good. Seeing little girls with relaxed hair. Like other sensitive subjects, I believe that should be decided by the child & not the parent. You can cause serious damage and burns to the child’s scalp/skin, not to mention blindness if it’s not done properly.
We’ve never had to deal with criticism from others, my daughter has always received compliments from others about her beautiful curls. She absolutely loves her hair and the time we spend together styling. It’s our mommy/daughter time! We pick out a movie with snacks and just enjoy the quiet time.

The products I would recommend to other hair-moms would be anything without SLS, Parabens, & Mineral Oil for the most part. Read the labels and educate yourself as much as you can, options are endless. Cocoa Curlz works very well on my children, but may not work well for another person. Avoid using heated stylers (straighteners, blow dryers, etc.) as much as possible.

Thank you Natalie! For contributing to our annual Hair Show it was a pleasure getting to know you and your dear little ones <3 I must say that both of your children's hair when they were younger was EXACTLY how my Diva R's hair was and it turned out to be exactly how your daughters too! Her hair went through similar transitions and was just as straight as a board and jet black in color when she was born and it has since then transformed into being a reddish brown color with a big mixture of type 2 textures with a smidge of type 3. I bet you never thought their hair would ever curl when they were babies! that's what i thought and was shocked to start seeing crazy all over the place curls appear as Diva R was growing! Diva B and Sir M are just gorgeous! I LOVE how you embrace their cultures and natural hair to the fullest! It is so wonderful to meet fellow mommies who feel that these area's are of utmost importance and that they should be treated as such.

I just love the adorable pic of Sir M with the red shirt and dab of drool! I could just squeeze his little cheeks. Such a cutie and he favors his sister too! Diva B is also gorgeous and her styles are always so cute and girly!

Please check out Natalie's website and online shop Cocoa Curlz and all that she has to offer from her special formulation of Natural Hair Care Products! (Currently she is only shipping throughout Canada but that may change in the future!). While on that thought feel free to "Like" her FB page.

Our 5th Annual Hair Show! Introducing Diva N...

It has been over a month since our last Hair Show and we are excited to get it back in motion especially with our friend Kandy's Daughter "N" from KandyLandKurls!!!!!

Meet N <3

Brief Bio

N is 6 years old, she is half African American and Puerto Rican. Her hair type is mostly 3c mixed with 4a.
How and When you got started styling hair

I learned how to braid from my aunts, as a child. I would practice on my American Doll Addy, and Barbies. I was very scissor happy on my dolls :( and learned through trial and error. But it wasn't until I was 12 that I learned the hard way on my own hair. From dye, hot combs, gels, to chemicals. I experimented with a little bit of everything lol.
Hair care Routine/Pet peeves
I wash N's hair once a week, every weekend. I deep condition her hair every other wash, I use a rinse out conditioner also.
I try to make sure her hair is in some form of braids or twists, which helps to prevent knotting in the morning (she is a wild sleeper) I also try my best to put a satin scarf on her head (it tends to come off at night & I'm forgetful sometimes) but I do try to use it daily.
I give N a hot oil treatment, or I should say, warm oil treatment, once every month or every other just to make sure her hair is well oiled.
N receives a egg treatment, once a month. All I have to do is simply crack 2 raw eggs into a bowl and beat them. Then I apply the eggs to her dry hair and I let it sit for approx. 10 mins. Then I wash it out with warm/cold water and continue with shampooing. (FYI -it's important to use cold water, to prevent scrambled eggs in the hair..yucky)
Swimming- I make sure she has a leave in conditioner in her hair and I try to co-wash the next day to get the salt/chlorine out of her hair.
Products we are currently using: These products are in our current regimen, and may change as we try other products.
Shampoo- Bee Mine Botanical Moisturizing Shampoo/ Shea Moisture Shampoo.
Conditioners- Suave Naturals Almond and Shea Butter Conditioner(I rinse this out)/ Organix Coconut Milk Conditioner (I use it as a leave in as well and in my spray bottle.)
Deep Conditioner- Organix Coconut Milk /Bee Mine (Bee-U-Ti-Ful) Moisturizing Deep Conditioner.(I leave it on for 20 mins, with a shower cap and hot towel, then wash it out.)
Oils- Coconut Oil & Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Essential oils- Peppermint Oil & Jojoba Oil.
Styling Products- Bee Mine Curly Butter, Shea Moisture Curl & Style Milk.
Moisturizer- Bee Mine Luscious Moisturizer, Bee Mine Hair and Scalp Moisturizer, Bee Mine Juicy Spritz and My Homemade Shea Butter Mix (to seal-in moisture).
Likes/Dislikes regarding hair products

I love Bee Mine products for N's hair, Organix Coconut Milk Conditioner, and our Shea Butter Mix. I dislike the Denman Brush on her hair, even after modifying it, her hair would wrap around the brush and snap.
Favorite Activities

N is a yellow belt in Taekwondo. She is also in Girl Scouts, Gymnastics, T-ball, and her Schools Science Club. In the past she was in Ballet, and Beauty Pageants. Our favorite family activity is playing checkers, N is very good and beats her Dad all the time. We also love to wrestle as a family (weird, I know) but even our 1 year old tackles and wrestles at random moments lol.
How do you get your little one to tolerate hair time

If it's wash day or I am doing a style that takes 2 hours or longer, I put on a movie to keep her entertained. But for our shorter styles we talk the entire time. Since she was a baby, she never complained or fussed when getting her hair done.
Here are some gorgeous styles of N's!

N is such a doll! Thank You Kandy for having N on our hair Show! It was a pleasure getting to know more about N and seeing her lovely styles! Im still shocked i haven't had her on our hair Show until now :p Time flies! I don't know how you get anytime to yourself Kandy with Diva N and all of her activities and keeping lil man entertained too! You sure are supermom! I love the family wrestling that is so awesome!!! I think that may be a fun addition into our household! Usually daddy and the kids wrestle while mommy hangs out and gets things done but i now wanna get in the action too!!

Thank you Kandy for this blessed opportunity!

Hope everyone enjoyed this amazing Hair Show! If YOU would like to be featured or have your child(ren) featured on our Hair Show please feel free to email me with the subject title HAIR SHOW and the format to which you would like to be featured with :) Check here for some ideas and our guidelines...

Announcing Our 3rd Annual Hair Show, Introducing Dominique-Alexis!!

Hey everyone here is our 3rd Annual Hair Show and on the show this week is Dominique-Alexis! She is the creator of www.natural-hair-care-info.com

Thank you for allowing me to be on your blog. I’ve always enjoyed seeing other people’s guest posts so it’s really cool to do one myself.
Bio: My name’s Dominique-Alexis and my younger sister’s nickname is Bunny. She turned nine years old in March and is on the Shining Stars Gymnastics Competitive Team. She loves gymnastics, writing songs and singing. We live in the south and come from a very outdoors-y family. I’ve always known how to braid hair but only learn how to cornrow a couple years back. Bunny and I spend most of our time in school, the music school, volunteering at the zoo, in the gym or outside, which is why neither of us ever wear afros or twist outs. Flat twists, cornrows, and twists are the usual styles due to tumbling in the gym and outdoor humidity.

Our Hair Types: 3C & 4A for both of us. We have the same curl pattern but she seems to have more hair per square inch so you’d never know it :)

Race: African-American/Black
How and when I got started styling Hair: About three years ago. Simply because someone needed to do it (Bunny and I have four other biological sisters with natural hair so it was a handful on our mom to have so many heads to braid) and I really enjoy doing hair. (I’m hoping to get my braiding license soon!)

Hair care routine: I usually put on a movie like Up, Despicable Me, Megamind or something like that for her. Sometimes we’ll listen to music or she’ll play the piano. ANYTHING to distract her. I wash her hair once a week in the afternoon (adding conditioner before and after the shampoo goes in so I don’t strip her hair) then leave it to stretch so it’s mostly dry before bed. The next day I’ll comb her hair through, moisturize it and style it. Sometimes I’ll throw a co wash/no poo or two into the routine, depending on how dirty she gets her hair. As far as styles go, I have no idea how it’ll turn out until it’s finished.
I recently stopped using Herbal Essence shampoos because of how much it strips her hair and have started using Honey & Almond Moisture Whip Shampoo by Naked. Her hair loves it! Whatever conditioner is on sale or is in the bathroom is what I’ll use to detangle and I’ll leave a little bit in her hair to soften. Something else I do is moisturizer her hair nightly before I wrap it so it’ll still look pretty in the morning.

Likes/dislikes regarding hair/products/accessories or advice: My advice to anyone and everyone would be not to get caught up in putting a bunch of beads or bobbles in your little ones hair that can lead to hair damage and breakage. Instead, take the time to make the parts neat or by getting creative with cornrows instead. Neat hair is pretty; it doesn’t have to be covered with bows and stuff. It can be, but it doesn’t have to be.

Favorite family activities/hobbies/interests: Family time, being outside, camping, horseback riding, working on my site, watching the fire with the family, playing with the dogs. I’m pretty live in the moment I guess.

How do you get your little one to tolerate hair time? I get people (sisters/friends) to stay still by being really gentle, this makes it a positive experience. I’ll put the TV on or let her use the computer or give her a snack or a toy. I ALWAYS try to be VERY GENTLE and now she’s learned to love hair time. A quick tip is not to stop your daughter or son from having fun with their friends or their game cube thing or whatever it’s called :) to do their hair, because then they’ll hate hair time.

Thank you Dominique for participating on our Hair Show, it was an honor being able to display your art work and learn about the artist behind the scene. I must highlight the positivity displayed from Miss Dominique-Alexis, through my getting to know her i have gained such an inspiration from just conversing with her that i have to share!!

I couldn't believe she is 15 when i read that in a previous blog interview because her demeanor, devotion and dedication on the side of her family closeness just blew me away. Most 15 year olds are just the opposite of Miss D and are off doing their own thing. I believe that Dominique-Alexis is a wonderful inspiration for all tweens-teens out there, family is first, school and getting good grades being secondary are not options but Duties to her. As a young person it is crucial and important to put family and school over any and all things, and even as you age family is always top priority unconditionally.

Usually one doesn't learn how to or how hard it is to manage a household until you've become an adult yourself, but Dominique has the drive and initiative beyond words and there seems to be no such thing as hard to her, its just so touching to see her levels of care and positivity towards her helping her Mother with her sisters and in general. YAY Dominique for lack of better words! Kudo's

Check out her lovely Natural Hair Care site it is PACKED with EVERYTHING one would want to learn, see or be inspired by. There are tutorials of ALL KINDS, picture demonstrations, many gorgeous styles, information and much more!!

Way Back Wednesday Style Reflection: 2 for 1

Way Back Wednesday Style Reflection 2 for 1: Diva R’s 1st and ONLY professional style AND 1st ever Cane-Row Twist Faux Hawk:
Ok here is our WBW 2 for 1 edition Style reflection and I decided to do a 2 for 1 today so in thought of some recent conversations I chose Diva R’s 1st ever professional style. I will start from the beginning
We were at a local children’s event and we came upon a booth that was a ethnic hair salon (at this time I didn’t know how to cornrow or do anything fancy on her hair) so I stopped and looked at their display of hair designs that the shop has done, marveled a bit and began to keep walking when one of the hair stylists stopped me and asked if I would like to get my daughters hair done for FREE. I was like FREE! Absolutely!!!!!.

They were doing this as a service for kids going back to school and Diva was just old enough to qualify, so it was about a 45 minute drive to the shop and I NEVER would have made a trip like this ever just to get her hair done and have to pay for it too but since it was free and pre-school started in a few days I was making that trip. Diva was not fond of me doing her hair at this age so I wasn’t sure how this would go… The ladies name was Cookie and she was the most experienced braider out of the shop 30 plus year experience so I was pleased with the atmosphere and surprisingly this was the first and only time I haven’t been told by a salon that they can’t do my daughters “type” of hair.

At first Diva was totally into it wanting to get her hair done and I wanted the stylist to do some girly patterned cornrows so I could watch and question her as she went. Everyone at the shop just loved Diva R’s hair she was the only one who didn’t have to be blow dried before being braided. So Diva began acting shy and acting up a little bit by Ms. Cookie really helped the situation by how prepared she was and how friendly she was to Diva R She let her pick out and hold the beads That made her day perfect from there out
She decided to do a few slanted cornrows with beads at the beginning and small/med sized triangle ponytails with NO rubber bands with two strand twists all over ending in beads and rubber bands.

(In action, in a deep concentration) *_*
*Note: I had no idea about beaders or how to secure beads on the hair at this time and I knew that I would have to redo her ponies in two days or less because of not rubber banding them, I told Cookie that but she said “Ill bet you these stay in for two weeks” I was praying so since I always have had to do her hair every few days no matter what type of style. I asked if she would teach me how to cornrow and she was more than willing and for free still at that. So this was a blessing at hand for sure! She recommended that I use Twist and Locks Honey Wax on her hair for holding only and only a tiny bit, and she wad other suggestions that I can’t remember till this day but they weren’t any of the ones I came across I know that for sure.

Also Light Oil Sheen spray for right after I style her hair. She didn’t have much to offer on biracial children’s hair care but her showing me methods of hand placements in person as well as she taught me how to rubber band beads on her hair with the spiraling upward technique so that its super quick to put them on! I did learn that from her! The braiding still took me some time after this though.

This style took an hour and a half and it seemed like 15 minutes! I liked the geometric different shapes in her hair and I was still satisfied with this look but I could have nearly done it myself J Diva JUST LOVED IT but she wouldn’t let the stylist take pics of it lol she was running around at that point dancing and being silly so it was def time to go lol

I was surprised the twists looked as good as they did because twists never stay in her hair NEVER and just as I presumed the twists needed to be re-done in two days and the ponies seriously needed tightening the next day. This style would have cost 35-40 dollars!!! So after this I said I am definitely going to teach myself since I couldn't learn from a pro in person, I am usually a quick learner and I said if I don’t get it off bat I'm going to plan B and Plan B worked for me This gorgeous girly style was done in Sept 2010 and has been repeated since Diva R was 3 ½.

This was two days later and i had changed the beads, colors and braided the what were(twists) :) great change over and this was quick too! I learned that quick to rubber band with that spiral twirling :)

Here is the “Cane-Row” Twists or (Flat two Strand Twists) going into a Faux hawk. This was the first attempt on Diva R at a Faux

This was done in October 2010 and for a first time Faux Hawk after watching YouTube and reading blogs until I just got silly it turned out more elegant looking than I thought I just cane-rowed her sectioned hair going toward the center part in her hair and securing them with rubber bands . I loved how her gorgeous loose curls just hung freely and the cane-rows complimented her girly-ness. I didn’t use any special type products at this time. <3 The Faux Hawk I was weirded out by at first but once I got to tinkering with it I began to LOVE IT on little girls hair and we have altered this many ways since.

Hope you Enjoyed our Way Back Wed post.

BUSY Combination Style, 2 & 3 Strand Twists, Pony Tails, Braids and More

Its been a while since we have done a busy style with ballies so we decided to bring it back :) The first set of pictures are of her Busy style that we created for pajama day at school she chose to wear her Princess and the Frog Jammie's so i got creative and wanted to incorporate alot of bling that matches :)

We washed and conditioned like usual and used the Bee Mine Juicy Spritz to coat her hair and roots prior to rubber banding.

I began parting geometric shapes ranging from diamonds-squares-rectangles-square hearts- an X- and a star in her hair and rubber banded them all individually (very light handedly and loosely so her hair doesn't get damaged) adding ballies and little ponies to the bases followed by applying generous amounts of Bee Mine Dejas Hair Milk in Island Mango ( making sure to heavily coat the base of the bands and ends of her hair where bands and such will be)then i let that saturate for 10 minutes and smoothed some Bee Mine Curly Butter on the mid parts of her hair that i will be braiding/twisting.

I then braided some of the parts, two strand twisted some, and three strand twisted others and incorporated a few sister twists for a BUSY different type of style. I ended the braids and twists with purple and green bow/animal clips(from our local beauty supply), purple and green BGP stars in pastel colors that we got from Curly Princess Hair Boutique (these are a must have for EVERYONE'S collection) we love the bigger sized beads and where we live NO ONE sells them. When the style was complete i spritzed one more layer of the Juicy Spritz and topped it off with a super light coat of Olive Oil Sheen.

We did this style for her pre-school pajama day and Diva R is most proud of this busy style :) Her little girlfriends come up and hug her and always compliment her hair its so rewarding! It took about an hour and a half with breaks.

This set of pictures is our "revamping" of her Busy style to freshen up the tightness and change the colors to match other outfits :) We also merged some of the sections to form new ones.
