French Braids and Natural Curls

*Simple and quick ALERT* Had to break out the french braids again as these are getting easier and easier for me to do now and i love the change up in braid looks. So i gathered my wide tooth comb, 2 rubber bands, hair bow of Diva R's choice, distilled water spritz, Bee Mine Curly Butter and Darcys Botanicals Cherry Kernal Nectar Hair & Body Oil. So the idea was simple and quick while incorporating two french braids and natural curls!

I coated her hair lightly with the distilled water and squeezed it in because i was going to do this style on her dry hair.

I simply parted from just behind her ear and went across the top of her head and stopped at the back of her other ear in a half moon fashion. I didn't feel the need for a rat tail or pick comb as i was going for a wider part with less of a need for perfection. French braids are distracting anyways (in a positive way) so the results are never really tight or really perfect because that's how the style originated many years ago and people since just add their own twists :) This is why when i do them i just let my hands go and grab sections as i go.

Then i parted a part on the side of my Divas head, applied some Curly Butter and grabbed a small front section in the front of where i wanted to create the french braid and split it in three sections and began to braid. I LOVE side parts and i french braided overhandedly because i love the french braids that POP. Then i did the same for the other side and rubber banded them TOGETHER behind her head, underneath her hair such as how a headband would be.

I added one of Diva R's newest bows which my friend Mommy A (Diva R's bestie's momma) made for her. ITS HALLOWEEN <3 we just love the bow! Its one of two bow blessings that Diva R received and she has worn it many times <3

So then i moved on to the back section of her hair which was freely hanging, i finger combed a few dabs of Bee Mine Curly Butter throughout and topped it off with a few spritz's of our DB Cherry Kernal Nectar Oil.

Here is an awesome side view of her style and the amazing bow <3 I just combed her baby hairs down which were remaining from the braids. I prefer not to gel or harshly slick them down because there is no way i want to stress her already sensitive hairline and most importantly these little curls are gifts from God and this is how he wanted them to be so i let them do their thing :)

Here is what the other side looked like you can get the idea of how i rubber banded the two french braids underneath her hair.

Under 20 minutes later the style was complete and expected to last a few days with minor touch ups :)

*UPDATE*
The style lasted strong for two days and then i restyled it <3

Love Your Girls Biracial Curls: French Braid Style Cornrows

Lately i have been so busy that which ever style comes to mind i just let my hands create as i think it up. I thought hmm its been a while since i French Braided Diva R's hair so why not do some FB's and add a little corn-rowed flair to them.

My goal was a fast and easy style that i could easy change up and fix if needed so she can wear it for at least a few days.

I gathered my Distilled, Curly Butter and Juicy Spritz. I then parted three sections in the design pattern that i freestyled which would be the angled look. I love the angled parts because they accentuate the Diva's face very well and i love the girly-ness amplified along side her cute baby hairs...

Here are the results :)

Note the half cornrow half french braid appearance. Cute and textured different look while being simple and quick with a touch of versatility= a well put together style perfect for a full day of play and fun!

I used the distilled water as our pre-style moisturizer, followed by the Curly Butter for our light hold product/sealer and finally the Juicy Spritz for our finishing moisturizer.

From beginning to end the style took 20 minutes.

I am still learning how to french braid so as i go they are getting better slightly each time. To me these are harder than cornrows to perfect. There are inverted and everted ways of doing this.

I was able to keep this style fresh for 2 days and then i re did it and it stayed for another 2 days :)

Combinaton 4-1 Style with Natural Curls, Braids, Sidewinder's, Ponytails, Braid-out, and Cornrows

Quick, Easy and Lovely! Natural hair is incredibly versatile in styling and combination styles can be easily created and easily altered each day creating a different and still equally as cute if not cuter style. I am one for showcasing Diva R's natural curls consistently. She loves wearing her hair down just as much as she does styled. I think my teachings and embracings have paid off already at her tender age of 4!

So my idea was to create a style which kept the top front portion of her hair free from hanging in her face, this is the area where she sweats heavily from and since its SO HUMID here i (for complaints from the Diva's sake) thought of re-creating an oldie but goodie of ours...

I began with the thought being "Hey" its been a while since i have used the Sidewinder's so i had to bring em back out! As these are just amazing and so much easier applying to the hair than beads. I used some of our 2 inch Sidewinder's in my choice of coordinating colors.

Part 1

Before i begin parting i spritzed Diva R's hair moderately with our trusty distilled water in our lovely pink bottle from scalp to tip. I lift her hair up as i spritz to guarantee an adequate coverage throughout. I then misted her hair with our Bee Mine Juicy Spritz acting as our light moisturizer and finger detangled the few knots that she did have while also smoothing the moisturizer into the already in place distilled water for our wonderful moisturizing method.

I chose our Darcy's Botanical's Madagascar Vanilla Styling Cream as our styling/hold product. I applied this to her ends generously and then began parting. Its really a no brainer as to how i did this style BUT i will explain in case someone would desire i do so.

I grabbed my trusty rat tail comb and parted ear to ear (just behind her ears) across the top of her head. Then i just split the top section of her hair in three sections, pony-tailed and singled braided each.

I ended each braid into one of the hair holders and a small pony bead. I opted out of the rubber bands for a little while to see how we like these orthodontic bands in place of them, and secured the bead on so the SW doesn't slide off (helped to provide a light ending weight on the hair holders).

I <3 our Sidewinders, I'd say my favorite size is the 2 inch because of Diva R's thinner type hair i like to usually put a smaller amount of beads on her hair per strand to prevent extra weight hanging off of her hair.

These are still better than beads currently for us and we have used them quite often since i bought her very first set ages ago :)!

This style took all of 20 min tops from start to finish. I topped it off with our Juicy Spritz and we were off.

Now for Part 2

Today's Curlee Style: Simple Yet Cute

This Curlee style is from a few days ago and the goal was something super girly, cute and simple with also taking most of those baby hairs out of her face. Adding her Tiana bow because she was wearing one of her many Tiana outfit's. I LOVE french braids any way possible, they never get boring and can be accessorized limitlessly. So I've done a style like this in the past and decided to re-vamp it and make it better since now i can braid somewhat better*_*

I used the Bee Mine Botanical Shampoo followed by Mixed Chicks Leave-In and then applied the Mixed Chicks Hair Silk. The below pics are of the completed product and i decided to opt out of using our normal moisturizer for today because Diva was going to be out in the sun so i figured to try out the Mixed Silk and its thermal protection along with its fly away solvent claims :)

I left her hair flowing in the back and put a french braid going across her front hair line at an angle just angled enough so that the long baby hairs are all taken care of, since they are at so many different lengths and curl patterns right now i try and tame them daily.
I tried to capture her glowing hair just shimmering in the sun but my camera is deficient! But in person her hair was seriously glimmering!!! I can believe that maybe the MC Hair Silk is responsible?...

Here is another glimpse of her definition and lovely natural curlees :) I often choose to style her hair minimally and let her hair do its thing! This style took 10 minutes tops and lasts a whole day and i re-did it the following day and added a new accessory :)

I have more proof coming up that Diva R's hair is growing magically and i can not say its because of anything aside from Bee Mine Products!!!!

(Sorry for the not so great quality of pics bare with me my camera is on its last leg...)

Short and simple this time around and it can be done on any hair type!!!! :)
