Diva R's Pre Birthday PART 1 :) PIC LOADED

Diva R's Pre-Birthday celebration began at school and for her 1st ever Birthday during school we decided to get some custom made cupcakes from a local bakery for her to take in and share with her friends :) Her chosen Birthday theme was Toodee from Yo Gabba Gabba this year.  I went all over the world and back trying to find a bakery that would make JUST Toodee cupcakes or ones with the individual characters on each one of them BUT for copyright reasons and my not knowing someone personally who could make these for us we went with the next best design idea and chose a group shot of the characters waving :)

These were ENORMOUS and had the sugary icing! I'm sure her classmates parents loved me after this treat :) It was a huge hit! No other kids in her class have brought in something original, and me being over the top as usual had to do one better than the rest and I'm glad we went this route because the kids are still raving about them! Diva R was so excited to share these with her friends and they were just YUMMY she said :) The kids loved how the characters were actually on them and weren't substituted with the cheap plastic junk on the cupcakes that parents usually go for at the deli already made...

Hi-5 to me :)

So for her school party Birthday doo AND professional pictures following i decided to just re-invent the previous style that i had done on the 12th click here to reflect on it :)  The alterations i made were simple and took all of 5 minutes.

Diva got a gift bag from her teachers with ALL KINDS of goodies in it for her :)

(This pic was taken after she got home from school)

I re-did the front two cornrows making them neater and fresh again, using the Bee Mine Curly Butter as i braided. I Then merged the two pigtails on the top center of her head into one pony and re-finger curled her curlees back into her lovely ringlets. I refreshed and left the back single pony in on the lower back of her head re-fingercurling those curlees also. Here is one of Diva R's Birthday Pics so you can get a partial idea of how her hair was styled and a preview of her Birthday outfit!!

(I put an image over her name for our safety, as an FYI in case anyone was thinking that was a part of her outfit)

Since we planned on Diva being in two outfits for her pictures i chose wisely the accessories that i will be changing VERY quickly in between shoots... This is also why i chose to do such a simple style.

The very night before her actual Birth date i decided that a Braid Out would be our Bday style :) I washed and conditioned her hair as normal and used a little bit of the Lavish Curls Moisturizer followed by our Bee Mine Juicy Spritz and finger detangled her hair. Not forgetting to use the Curly Butter as i braid :) I then started sectioning away (not striving for perfect linage) and braided the individual sectioned braids tightly and rubber banded them off.

Off to bed she went :)

For a few weeks now i have been experimenting with JUST using her satin pillow case nightly as her hair protection through the night versus our normal sleep bonnet and satin pillow case dually in hopes of noting any differences and/or providing helpful information to those curious or skeptical.

Last year my husband and i wanted to try something new to add to her Birthday morning and we decided to add Bunches of balloons in her room for her to awake to them...

BUT probably because this was a first attempt and because i didn't think to READ the package like i should have the balloon's were MINI balloons! LOL We were aiming for big ones BUT it turned out being a success anyways! Diva was just THRILLED!

This is a glimpse of Diva R at this time last year on her special day :)

As for this year i decided to actually READ the balloon packages LOL and opted out of the smaller sized ones and grabbed some bigger sized latex balloons in princess colors :) and with help from the Hubby we blew up over a hundred of them and....

(This is all of them in front of her door and in the bathroom BEFORE we released them into her room)
This had to be done VERY quietly and sneakily so our surprise wasn't ruined before the morning. STILL praying that she didn't have to wake up to potty before the morning also...*_*

We got them in!!!!

AND made it through the whole night without our surprise being foiled!!! The next morning i woke up super early beyond excited with my video camera in hand and started singing happy birthday as i walked in until she woke up (mind you she HATES the birthday song for some odd reason LOL always has) and she was so happy yet shy and telling me to STOP singing that song at the same time that she didn't notice the balloons due to her hiding under the pillow until i stopped singing LOL (All the while her brother was dancing to my singing and he noticed the balloon's right away! He was in paradise and jumped off into them :))

Diva R noticed them and WENT BONKERS! "Mommy why are there balloons in my room?" IS IT MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" YAY TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY" and she started singing the Spanish happy birthday song to herself! HA like the Diva she is and we all just jumped in and started a whirl wind of balloons in every direction :) This was beyond the last years balloon morning and next year we will add a few hundred more!!!
For my son Z we will be starting off with 200 balloons for his Bday coming up in Aug :)

So what would a Diva have for breakfast for her 4th Birthday morning???

We Cut Diva R's Hair...

We decided that it was time to give Diva R a haircut since it has been just under a year and she hasn't really needed one up until now :) We are avid bead, clips and rubber band users so i deem it important to keep a watch on her roots and ends for breakage regularly. Her last haircut was a hack job :( By me so i vowed never EVER to cut her hair again. I called all around and no ethnic shops in my area would cut "her type of hair" (what ever that means). So i found a place that has extremely knowledgeable people who specialize in curlee q's and it just so happens to be a KIDS ONLY hair cutting place.

I cant believe i didn't know this place existed until now SMH :) Gotta get out more.
I thought long and hard before the appointment about what i should do to prepare Diva R's hair and what i should bring with me in case knots, tangles or something alike would happen. ( I fear harmful products so i like to be prepared just in case) So we washed Diva's hair with the Bee Mine Botanical Shampoo and conditioned it with the Bee Mine Avacado Conditioner and finger detangled her hair while it was still wet and i generously spritz'd the Bee Mine Juicy Spritz. I then used the TT to spread the juicy spritz through her hair evenly.

I decided that in my bag to bring i would include the...
*Tangle Teezer*
*Juicy Spritz*

When we got there the kids went bananas!

You can understand why :P I was taken back by how awesome this place was, when i was younger they had nothing like this! If they did i may have enjoyed getting my hair cut. They even had their own line of products! So of course i became Inspector Gadget and checked them all out 1 by 1. Has anyone ever seen or used these products?

Off of first glance it was obvious these are not natural or organic products but they are mostly composed of the rich pure hair oils that we all concoct at home in our homemade hair therapies. What i found really interesting was that each bottle had a different child who represented different countries and ethnicity's and the products matched the child :) It was great to see the display of multi-ethnic children on hair products that had ingredients to match :) Alot of these had sulfates and such like that in them so i was deterred from buying these but id love to hear input on the products if anyone has used these. these compared to most store brands had more nourishing elements in them.

Of course Diva R couldn't help but notice the Diva table in the back that had a barbie head with hair and a styling chair with a doll in it with hair:) It had combs brushes and the whole 9 for little girls to do hair while waiting. She LOVED that.

She got to pick out what DVD she would like to watch on her own personal TV while she also got to choose which car/plane/decked out chair she wanted to sit in. She picked the pink car to sit in and Barney as her movie of choice (Divalicious) She was talking up a storm and loved getting her hair cut.

I had to give the stylist the run down of her hair routine and what we will and wont allow and how we want her hair handled. I asked if she has heard of the TT and she has heard of it but never considered using it. My time to school has come. I pulled it out and spread beneficial information so that hopefully they will incorporate more types of combing/brushing products for a wider variety of hair types. She was intrigued :)
I am surprised i didn't have to take over somewhat, the stylist was just AMAZING and knew exactly what she was doing.

We just got her ends barely trimmed. The stylist even said her hair is so healthy she only needed not even half an inch cut off.
Cookie Cutters is just the place to be if your a kid needing a haircut or a diva needing her nails done even :) Click above and see if there is one near you :)

Both kids got a balloon, sucker and two loaded books of great coupons for cuts, products and services. When it was time to leave i knew it would be a fight, but this time i was spared of the craziness since the place we were going right after was equally as cool :) My son had a Dentist appt right after...Luckily we have a KIDS ONLY Dentist office that is like Disneyland! Seriously.

The staff at Cookie Cutters is just amazing! They are heavily involved in the community and are must go-to's if there is one in your area.

Diva R Got Her First Mani and Pedi!!

Diva R has been a Diva at heart from birth, at 16 months she got her first REAL Coach purse, it was just her size and had light pink around the bottom... This is the one that she had her eye on it just stood out to her as we were shopping. She LOVED this purse carried it every where and still has it today. Her FAV things to carry in it were her little princess phone, a mini cardboard book, "her" keys and a misc toy  of different natures :) *Moment in Diva History*

So for my wedding i decided that id take Diva R and my sister out for a girls day and no better way to have girly together time than to get mani's and pedi's :) Diva R was skeptical of the huge massage chair and tub of water jets with bubbles but i just picked her up sat her in the chair and she fell in love at that moment! She just ate it up. I picked her polish color to match my nails :) I had begun thinking why haven't i taken her already to get pampered?....

Watching her giggle and talk with her expressions was beyond rewarding for me :) My little Diva. She got the whole 9 :) Leg massage, feet massage, hand massage, the warm towel massage AND the nice nail lady even painted a flower on her big toes and thumbs. The flowers sent her over the deep end in her divaness lol she was showing all the ladies her nails and talking non stop :) She really didn't want that water to drain out of the foot tub :( but when she was put under the lamp she was back to her chatty self.

$30.00 dollars later i have a little girl who is ecstatic beyond comparison who is still raving about getting her nails done again weeks later and i promise myself that this will be something we do often :) This is such an esteem booster for a little girl.

My sister was also geeked it was her first time EVER getting a mani and pedi and we went out and bought her some makeup also :) Shes getting so big <3

Such a nice pick me up and its awesome to have my little girl to enjoy it with...
