Three Strand Twist Up-Do With Ponytail Style

Three Strand Twist Up-Do Style With a Pony Tail

The name pretty much sums it up, i was going for something new cute and girly. I had also started making bows from time to time and was quite proud of my first complex bow as i liked to call it.  I decided that i would begin with coating her hair generously with distilled water since it was dry prior to styling.

Then i parted a side part from her forehead back until i reached the point behind her ear then i parted a straight line across the top of her head until i reached the same spot on the opposite side of her head behind her ear.

I spritzed a little bit of our Juicy Spritz throughout her hair and then applied some Bee Mine Luscious Balanced Cream Moisturizer to each formed section individually to help slick her hair smoothly into the rubber bands and seal in the moisture already applied.  I rubber banded the top sections i created and smoothed out the back section with a tad more Luscious Cream and then i constructed three strand twists from each of the two sections formed which i put into a pony tail with the back section.

When the pony tail was complete i spritzed a little more distilled water on her curls hanging from the pony tail to liven them up and so i could finger separate her curls for more bounce and volume. (The bow pictured i created and now Diva R LOVES when i make her bows <3)

The twists stayed very well in place and didn't unravel as they normally would being freely hanging this was a simple and quick style which is suitable for girls of all ages and easy enough for beginners to grasp with no prior knowledge.

I left her baby hairs just laying down in their normal fashion of choice that day which really complimented her style and all in all this style was complete in 15 minutes. Added the bow and was finished. Another great aspect is that this style lasted for a few days with minimal frizz and by simply changing the bow to match her daily outfit, I dressed up the style making it look new :)

I am a sucker for side parts and pony tails. Trying new things is something that we make an active element in our household as this consistently expands our horizons and helps to keep optimistic tones as well.

Here are 3 more additions to MY Creations :)

SO ever since i made that Tiana Bow, i have got this craftiness going on and though I'm not the most creative person alive i am very proud of what i have made! and ultimately Diva R loves them and that's all that matters :)

I have been looking for a great bow holder for a while now and i really want Diva R to have a tutu bow holder but i am so not willing to pay 35 plus dollars for one! That's robbery in my eyes. So until i find the itch to make one myself i decided to make a temporary bow holder.

This doesn't even hold all of her bows either but it sure did free up much needed space :) and it was easy to make.

I used three cut pieces of three bright colored bandanna's, a wooden hollow circle that was about 7 inches all around, liquid stitch, scissors and our left over Tiana ribbon. I plan on nailing this on to her wall until i make my next creation to better display these :) All in all the total crafting time took an hour and i let it dry for a few hours before i hung the bows on it.

I also made two new bows...

The bow on the left looks so much better in person than on camera, it has her full name across the center of it :) This one is super special to Diva because it has her name on it. It took about an hour to make! Insane i know but I'm still new into it.  The bow on the right is my FAV of the two it took about two hours to make and required some handiness. I used some more of the cut up bandanna pieces from the bow holder to complete this bow :) Its a fun summery bright bow and i cant wait for Diva R to wear this one :) The other pieces included in the bow on the left are from a pair of my old jeans that i cut up and a misc button. LOVE my new hobby. These ones here cost me nothing because all of the items i used to make these were gifted to me.

Anyone have any crafting abilities??? I need to learn how to crochet... Any tips or resources that would help a beginner out?

Todays Curlee Style: Princess Tiana Inspired & My First Ever Hand Crafted Bow!!

In honor of Princess Tiana i decided to try a Sock Bun and since i never did a SB before i decided to just give it a whirl :)

Here is Diva R's hair before i put the sock bun sock on her pony tail :)

Below is of the first EVER sock bun sock that i ever constructed and i must say that doing them with regular socks is the way to go, i chose this fuzzy purple sock because it matched Divas dress perfectly that she was going to wear... Problem was it that it was WAY to bulky for Divas hair so i cute it down quite a bit and after fussing with it just threw the towel in on that sock bun sock because her hair just wasn't long enough or thick enough for it :)  So i them got a brown dress sock of mine and cut it up and rolled it into a donut and it worked GREAT or at least better than the first attempt (have no pics of the brown sock bun sock)...

I put Diva R's pony tail through the sock bun sock (SBS) like so...

And here is how it turned out using the smaller sized sock... i decided that i didn't want to pin her hair under the bun or "comb" it under there so i just left a waterfall of free curlees falling from the sides and bottom of the bun :) I see now that i could have used a bit bigger of a sock for a fuller bun but i was pleased with the results :)

BTW the Tiana bow is the FIRST EVER bow i have ever made!!! I am so proud of myself :) It took over an hour though since I'm a neewbie BUT it was relatively easy and i just love how it turned out.. Had to get some Tiana ribbon to compliment her Tiana dress that Dawn's Bowtique made special for Diva R :)

Below is a side shot of Diva R's Tiana Inspired hair doo for her Pa's birthday party...

The reverse side shot :) (slightly fuzzy looking but was perfected of course before we left )

Above and below is my awesome creation :) This bow consisted of a freestyled idea, Tiana ribbon from Walmart that was $2.97 and i still have some left, some liquid stitch, scissors, white sequins, smaller purple ribbon, small shiny sparkly white ribbon, a center flower accent and an alligator clip that i recycled :)

Here is the Diva modeling her FAV dress that inspired this hair doo and bow creation :)

Here is the Diva in action singing and dancing sporting her FAV princess :) I seriously got stopped all night as well as my husband by people asking where we got her dress and bow and my hubby felt the need to showcase my creation and boast that i made the bow and did her hair :) Yay hubby :) That was an all night pick me up, i got to live in that moment and brag about Dawn's Bowtique too of course :) All the little girls wanted a dress like hers <3 that made Diva feel so special, things like that move her so greatly and shes so appreciative of peoples compliments also :)

We used our reg products for this hair style and total time for style completion was 30 min tops :)

God Bless :)
