Slide Braid's, 3 Triangle Parted Pony Tails, and Flat Rolling Twists

Simple and Quick! Girly and Cute! Fun 3 in 1!

Lately Ive been on a flat twist binge and have been experimenting with all types of flat twists. This time around i was desiring to do some flat rolling twists and since her baby hairs are so long but not quite long enough to be pulled back or braided neatly i chose that section to twist.

I wanted to drift off into another realm of pig tailing since we've done a few styles incorporating those lately. So i opted for three triangular parted pony tails behind the two flat twists that i constructed in front.

I used our distilled water spritz initially for our first layer of moisturizer onto her freshly washed conditioned and nearly dried hair. I began parting out my 3 sections and clipped two of them off individually. Then i smoothed on some Bee Mine Curly Butter per section as i pony tailed. I added some Bee Mine Luscious Balanced Cream Moisturizer to the pony tailed sections i planned to braid for a thick moisturizing agent and a good hold product as well. I decided that i would do the slide braids again as these are so dimensional and gives us a break from the traditional braids.

From beginning to end the style took 35 minutes and it lasted nicely in place for 2 days with no need for touch ups.

I topped it off with our Bee Mine Juicy Spritz and were complete! For my how-to explanation on how to do Slide Braids click here.

Notice how i did flat rolling twists which end in braids? I chose to do it like this because Diva R's hair will not stay in flat rolling twists without being braided as the twist is leaving her scalp. They will immediately unravel any other way for us.

Father's Day Style Recap :)

So i decided to whip out the slide braids again :) and for Father's Day which was also on a Sunday this year i decided to do something ultra girly cute and to coordinate it with... Diva R loves wearing dresses she is the girly girl so she gets to wear them alot! This style was inspired by her canary yellow halter top dress.

It was quick simple and took all of 20 minutes from beginning to end. I used the Bee Mine Juicy Spritz along side the Lavish Curls Moisturizer topped off with our cherished Bee Mine Curly Butter.

The slide braids have become a cute addition to our styling regime, they are adorable and people always try and figure them out after they oogle over them :) and they are so easy even a Daddy can do them!

Diva R has some of the most healthy vibrant curls i have seen. I see alot of biracial children on a regular and almost ONE of their parents do anything to care for their children's hair and that explains the ratty-looking-ness of it :( Poor children, there is no excuse for laziness parents!

This Father's Day was a blessed one as usual, it was all about Daddy and we hung out all day long and spent time with the fam as well.

In case your wondering these lovely flowers came from Tiffany's blessed hands over at Diva Locks (Diva Do's & Everything in Between)

I LOVE easy styles! Keep in mind this blog is for everyone of every hair type, you don't have to be biracial or have biracial children because you will gain consistently from LYGBC i promise that!!!

God Bless.

Busy Combination Style With Slide Braids + How To

I have been page surfing on FB for some new styles to try and i must say when i seen this slide braid on Toni Keyannas' Mama Brown's daughter i had to try it :) I had to see if Diva R's hair could pull it off since its believed that you have to have long hair to do it :)

Well Diva R's hair is just under her shoulders un-stretched and i had decided to do a freestyle pony tail style on her, nothing intricate just something cute that we could accessorize. I used the Bee Mine Juicy Spritz as her moisturizer and i applied this  right after her Mixed Chicks Leave-In. Her hair was freshly washed prior to styling.  For hold i applied the Bee Mine Bee Hold Curly Butter as the final product :) This is the BEST butter i have found yet and it is so great for Diva R's hair type! I then just started randomly parting and rubber banding each section and added the heart ballies to the bases.  These heart ballies are awesome i LOVE them!

As you can see i had did some Slide Braids from each pony tail, in case your wondering what slide braids are and how to do them it is so simple that someone who has no idea how to cornrow can do this and it can be completed in seconds...

All you do is braid a regular three strand braid until about 2 inches is left at the bottom of the braid un braided, with that remaining two inches take the two left most strands and PINCH them with your index and middle finger, holding them in place. THEN take your other index finger and middle finger and PINCH the remaining strand, Then PUSH with your index and mid finger the two left most strands up while holding the third strand taught with your right index/mid finger.

You then should have a Slide Braid!! It can be done on medium-long length hair and it remains super cute throughout the whole day and beyond depending on hair texture.  ALSO note that the slide braids that i did are tighter and pushed up more giving it the knot looking effect :) You don't have to push the side two strands up as tight as i did you can do it as tight or loose as you want, just keep in mind that the shorter the hair you attempt these on the smaller the slide braid will be. I decided to add a length of the large barrell beads at the ends of the slide braids, because i couldn't add any smaller size ones due to the thickness of each braid ending. I did this also to cover the varying length of hair left from each slide braid. This is NORMAL and doesn't indicate any thing incorrect or damaged because most of the hair is indeed being pushed up into the slide braid.

After wards i spritzed a light coat of distilled water... I use distilled water as an often refresher also because nothing is more hydrating than water itself. and i love the sheen it creates!
These are awesome cute braids, if i could only master the fish bone braid and a 5 strand braid i will be progressively moving along the braid world LOL

This style took 30 minutes from beginning to end.

What types of braids aside from the norm can you do and how did you learn??
